START FITNESS NORTH EAST HARRIER LEAGUE, Peterlee, Tyne & Wear, September 28

The seven-race league got the 2024/25 cross-country season off to an early start at Thornley Hall Farm and saw a comfortable victory for Morpeth’s Josh Fiddaman.

The 2023 BUCS cross-country champion triumphed over Alex Bellew by well over a minute and a half.

The 27-year-old former European under 20 cross-country bronze medallist from 2014 also represented Great Britain in the 2018 under 23 championships but has had a quiet few years before some low-key outings earlier this year.

Dillon, finished eighth in the Inter-Counties under 20 race earlier in 2024 after a couple of North East Harrier wins.

The age group races saw Kitty Graham, the 2023 Northern Counties cross-country bronze medallist, win the under 15 event.
