The duo both claimed course records and won convincingly over 13.1 miles
Jack Rowe and Lucy Reid were both victorious at the Manchester Half Marathon (October 13).
The pair produced fantastic performances and clocked respective course records of 62:12 and 69:13.
Rowe, who defended his title at the Manchester Half, went an incredible 28 seconds quicker than his winning time last year.
This was his second half-marathon in as many months, after triumphing at the Big Half in 62:35.
The 28-year-old then spent some time on holiday in Greece and returned to the UK to claim victory at the Vitality London 10,000 with a time of 29:14.
It’s been a stunning season for Rowe, who’s recorded personal bests in the 1500m, 3000m, 5000m and 10,000m.
He also finished 17th over 5000m at the European Championships and then placed third over the distance at the UK Athletics Championships.
Rowe, who had the 5000m qualifying standard for the Olympics, wasn’t selected for the Games and the three who went were George Mills, Sam Atkin and Patrick Dever.
After the Vitality London 10,000, he told AW that he was “trying to formulate a plan” that involves the 5km, 10km and half-marathon for 2025.
Two half-marathon wins and a victory over 10km has put the Brit in a great position going into next season.
Rowe’s winning margin in Manchester was 31 seconds to Jacob Allen and Alex Lepretre was third in 64:14.
Reid also produced a stunning time and recorded a personal best of 69:13 to take the victory in Manchester.
This was her fourth half-marathon of the season and the quickest by a distance.
In January, the 31-year-old finished sixth in Seville in a time of 70:30 before winning the Cambridge Half two months later in 71:41.
More recently, she clocked 73:31 for third behind Eilish McColgan and Calli Hauger-Thackery at the Big Half.
A couple of weeks later, Reid placed second behind McColgan at the Vitality London 10,000.

Her run over 13.1 miles in Manchester blew her previous best of 70:29, set at the Copenhagen Half two years ago, out of the water and also put her 14th on the UK all-time list.
Charlotte Dannatt and Rebecca Murphy ran 74:24 and 74:42 for second and third respectively.
In the elite wheelchair race, Sean Frame took the win in 48:24.
