Day 14: Delighted JALOLOV has won two Olympic titles

jalovo, the Olympic Games winner from Uzbekistan, defeated German athlete Nelvie Tiafack in the quarterfinals by using his longer reach, and he also defeated Australia’s Teremoana Junior Teremoana, one of his biggest competitors. He defeated his German opponent in every facet of boxing, and he made it to his second Olympic final following Tokyo.

A dominant super-heavyweight

Jalolov put on a clinic to capture what might be the final Olympic gold medal in boxing history.
He used lengthy southpaw jabs to gauge Ghadfa’s vulnerability before timing his big straight lefts.
In the opening round, the Spaniard took the lead thanks to a huge cross. Then Jalolov leaped in, trying to attack while Ghadfa was exposed, but he inadvertently strayed to the right of Ghadfa.

However, that set off a furious counterattack, and the Spaniard received a second count on the bell after yet another strong blow.

Although he did not fall, he managed to stay upright throughout the competition.
In round two, Jalolov maintained his aggressive strategy. He sent in a forceful right and then launched a left, confusing Ghadfa. The shots caught the Spaniard off guard, and he was easily dispatched.

Controlling him, the Uzbek repeatedly landed a left hook to finish the round, rocking Ghadfa back.

But he failed to pursue a grandstand finish. Instead of searching for a knockout, he made sure there was no margin for error.

Jalolov did not move quickly. He allowed Ghadfa to search for openings, but instead, he punished the Spaniard with forceful counterpunches, winning by unanimous decision.

Nesthy Petecio, a senior athlete from the Philippines, made excellent use of her familiarity with the Olympic scene in the Paris edition. She struggled with motivation in 2022 following the Tokyo Olympics, but she trained really hard for this Olympics and only took home a bronze in Paris due to Julia Szeremeta’s powerful blows.

Following an overwhelming 5:0 unanimous decision victory over Julia SZEREMETA of Poland, Yu Ting LIN of Chinese Taipei was proclaimed the Olympic champion in the women’s 57kg weight class. LIN, who placed tenth in Tokyo 2020, dominated the entire competition, winning four games in a row with a 5:0 margin. In spite of the defeat, 20-year-old SZEREMETA achieved a noteworthy feat in her first Olympic appearance: she became the first Polish woman to win an Olympic boxing medal.

LIN shared her feelings following her triumph: “I feel amazing. I would want to express my gratitude to all of my supporters, as well as to my team and the people of Taiwan. I have the power because of them. Not every battle is simple. Although winning 5-0 can appear simple, it takes a lot of work and effort to get there.

“It was a great honour to carry the flag but I knew I still had to win the gold medal,” he said in response to a question concerning the strain of representing Uzbekistan at the Opening Ceremony. I delivered the gold as I knew I had to.

In the Men’s +92kg final, Uzbekistan maintained its dominant position when he defeated Spain’s Ayoub GHADFA DRISSI EL AISSAOUI 5 to 0. The victory was marked by aggression and hard strikes. This triumph cemented his position as the man to beat in his division and was his second consecutive Olympic gold medal.

He expressed his feelings after winning two gold medals at the Olympics, saying, “I’m emotional because this is history for Uzbekistan and it was my ambition to win two gold medals. I’m thrilled right now, and I plan to keep fighting professionally.

Uzbekistan won five of the seven men’s gold medals. When asked if this is the best men’s boxing team in history, he responded, “All praise to Allah, we did it.” Not a single other participating nation has these kinds of outcomes. It is the outcome of our diligent labour.

Atheyna Bibeichi BYLON, the silver medallist from the 2023 Pan American Games, was defeated by Qian LI (CHN) in the women’s 75kg final by a resounding 5:0 unanimous decision.
