Gloucester Park played host to the first of an Adam Hickey weekend double that firstly saw victory here over junior Joseph Grange, before a win in the Leigh-on-Sea 10km less than 24 hours later.
Kate O’Neill, the 2020 junior Inter-Counties bronze medallist, took the women’s race and has returned to the UK this autumn after time racing in the United States, where she put in a good series of indoor distance races.

Last year Birmingham University took the first two places in the men’s race but went one better this time with the top three six-man squads home.
Tyler Bilyard, the BUCS 1500m champion, ran out fastest overall after just getting the nod on his Birmingham University team-mate Brett Rushman, who was in their D team as both ran the first 3km leg.
The domination was not quite the same in the women’s race as the Birmingham squad also came out on top and had their Jess Bailey comfortably post the quickest lap mid-race.
